Fresh snow and pristine slopes provide perfect conditions for Telemark skiers. But what is Telemark skiing anyway? As with cross-country skiing, only the front part of the boot is attached to the binding. This allows the heel to move freely.
Surely you have already seen a few skiers performing the unique Telemark turns. The turns in particular are what distinguishes this special technique from regular Alpine skiing. It was named after the Telemark region in Norway, where it originated. Ready for the first tele position?
Experience in Alpine skiing – at an advanced level – is a basic requirement for Telemark skiing.
On Flumserberg, Telemark skiing lessons for beginners are held on Saturdays from 12.15 to 13.45 (minimum four people).
