Excursions on Flumserberg
One mountain, countless destinations for excursions: In summer, Flumserberg has a lot more to offer than "just" its scenic and impressive sunny plateau high above Lake Walen. True to its nickname "adventure mountain", it also offers a wide variety of activities for children and adults. What's more, the diverse summer sports resort is conveniently located between Zurich and Chur and thus easily accessible from all directions.
Take a scoop of the FLOOMZER toboggan run and the CLiiMBER climbing tower, add 150 km of hiking trails and 13 km of biking trails, sprinkle everything with pristine nature – and what you get is the perfect mixture for a summer just how you imagined! It is really no surprise that Flumserberg impresses visitors of all ages.
All that matters is to be out in nature: Flumserberg invites you to explore the Swiss mountain world of southern St. Gallen – on foot or on two wheels. Summer tobogganing, climbing, paragliding, minigolf, tennis, football, riding, fishing, … If you are looking for alternatives to hiking and biking, you have countless options to choose from. And how about visiting the legendary Flumserberg Open Air? A must for all fans of Alpine folk music!
Tip for summiteers: the 7-Peaks-Tour, a 14-kilometre hike that includes breathtaking scenic views of the mountains and the seven peaks that give it its name.
In 25 minutes from 425 m up to more than 2020 m: Sounds exciting? It is! During the ride in the 8-seater gondola SeeJet and 8-seater gondola BergJet, your day on Flumserberg already starts in high spirits. The gondola comfortably takes you from Unterterzen via Tannenboden to Panoramarestaurant Maschgenkamm – and thus to the UNESCO World Heritage Tectonic Arena Sardona. If you would like to learn more about this unique site, you can do so on the "GeoGallery" themed trail.
An equally attractive alternative is the Alpine Flora Trail, on which you can marvel at the diverse flora of the region.
Tip for special occasions: the VIP gondola of the BergJet. The private gondola "designed by Porsche Design Studio" takes you high up into the mountains while you enjoy magnificent 360-degree views.
On Flumserberg, families always stay in motion – the FLOOMZER summer toboggan run and the CLiiMBER climbing tower are certainly proof of this. Whether it's two exciting kilometres downhill on the toboggan run or three levels up using your own strength: Both attractions are the icing on the cake of a summer excursion in the Swiss mountains.
Tip: the giant bouncy cushion at Prodalp mountain restaurant right next to the CLiiMBER climbing tower. That’s where young excursionists can live it up as much as they please and, afterwards, indulge in some tasty culinary creations. The bouncy cushion can be used free of charge throughout summer – and it’s a great location for rounding off an eventful family day on Flumserberg.
In Tannenboden, at the "COLORS – kids park and ride", kids can practice their driving skills in a child-appropriate setting. On mini toy cars, motorised tricycles and scooters by BMW Baby Racer, children cruise through the streets and roundabouts of the so-called traffic garden. Meanwhile their parents kick back on the sun terrace of the COLORS – Restaurant and Bar, from where they can keep an eye on their little ones at all times.
